Position: Senior Electrical Design Engineer
Salary: up to £70,000
Hours: Full-Time
Location: Croydon, Surrey
We’re looking for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to lead projects and support the development of junior engineers.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys owning projects from concept through to completion – balancing technical delivery, client relationships and team leadership.
The role
As Sales Advisor, you’ll deliver a personalised and elevated shopping experience, building genuine relationships with customers and driving sales through a consultative approach. You’ll be confident working towards targets, handling higher-value transactions, and supporting junior team members when needed.
As part of the role, you’ll be required to work Saturdays with a day off provided during the week in lieu.
Key responsibilities
- Leading electrical design across a range of sectors including education, residential, commercial and healthcare
- Managing projects from initial concept through to detailed design, tender and site stages
- Producing specifications, calculations, drawings, schedules and budget costings
- Monitoring project programmes and financial performance
- Mentoring and overseeing junior engineers
- Attending client and design team meetings, carrying out surveys and inspections
- Supporting tender analysis and contract administration
We’re looking for someone with:
- Has strong experience within a building services consultancy or contractor design environment
- Is confident managing multi-disciplinary projects and direct client relationships
- Has solid knowledge of UK Building Regulations, CDM, British Standards, CIBSE and IEE regulations
- Is comfortable using industry software such as AutoCAD/Revit, Amtech, Dialux, Hevacomp and Microsoft Project
- Holds an HNC or Degree in Electrical Engineering (or similar)
