We’re working with a prominent organisation in the East of England to appoint a Director of Philanthropy.

This is a rare senior appointment for someone who excels in high-level relationship building and enjoys operating at a strategic, externally-facing level

Key responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver the organisation’s high-value engagement and philanthropy strategy
  • Manage a portfolio of senior relationships, developing tailored approaches for long-term partnership and impact
  • Secure significant commitments through strategic, relationship-led engagement
  • Act as a senior external representative, building credibility and trust with influential stakeholders
  • Work closely with internal leadership to align engagement activity with organisational priorities
  • Ensure high standards of governance, reporting and data management across all relationships
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of systems, processes and best practice

The ideal candidate for this role will have:

  • Proven experience operating in a senior, externally-facing role focused on high-value relationship management
  • A strong track record of securing significant outcomes through trust-based, long-term partnerships
  • The confidence and credibility to engage with senior stakeholders and influence at board or leadership level
  • Strategic thinking capability, with the ability to align individual interests to wider organisational goals
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong attention to detail alongside the ability to manage complex information and reporting requirements
  • Experience working with CRM systems and structured data environments
  • A proactive, resilient and self-aware approach, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
