Coulter Elite Resourcing is currently looking for a Mechanical Building Services Design Engineer to work with one of their well-established and highly successful clients, a leading name in the mechanical & electrical building services design consultancy sector, known for delivering high-quality projects and exceptional customer service. Our client is expanding their team in Croydon to meet growing demand for services.
Principal Responsibilities for the Mechanical Building Services Design Engineer:
- Lead Design and Technical Consulting: Provide expert design and technical advice, covering site surveys, feasibility studies, technical reports, and commissioning for building services projects.
- Manage Multiple Projects: Oversee and coordinate multiple projects, ensuring deadlines and cost requirements are met, with minimal supervision.
- Collaborate with Design Teams: Work closely with both internal and external design teams, maintaining clear communication and delivering excellent client care.
- Deliver Technical Documentation: Prepare designs, calculations, specifications, and reports, ensuring compliance with project requirements and building regulations.
- Promote Sustainability and Quality Control: Incorporate sustainability and energy efficiency in designs, while conducting defect inspections and ensuring adherence to best practices.
Person Specification for the Mechanical Building Services Design Engineer:
- Project Understanding and Scope: Grasp project briefs, fees, timelines, and scope, with awareness of any limitations on specific projects.
- Budget and Cost Management: Monitor project costs and ensure design recommendations align with the overall project budget.
- Self-Management and Time Efficiency: Organize your workload to meet timescales and deliverables with minimal supervision.
- Meeting and Communication Skills: Represent the discipline at meetings, communicate professionally with project teams and clients, and prepare progress reports.
- Technical Skills and Mentorship: Provide technical guidance, mentor junior engineers, and ensure continuous improvement through innovation and technical development.
This is a full-time, permanent position for a Mechanical Building Services Design Engineer, working 40 hours per week with opportunities for overtime. The role offers an annual salary of up to £50,000, along with a company car. Benefits include 22 days of holiday plus Bank Holidays, a pension scheme, and free car parking.
